About this deal

The case might be a “normal” looking stainless steel watch case but the Mako 2 compensates that with a beautiful looking dial =) The best part? Despite the premium feel and quality, it’s surprisingly AFFORDABLE! Our Verdict: Which Is For You? Ever since their inception in 1950, Orient. inc has been creating amazing timepieces and put their mark on the world as one of the renowned watchmakers of the world.

x 47mm x 13mm – beautifully classic case shape with excellent mix of polished and brushed surfaces – bezel can be hard to turn at times Dial This watch from Orient made its way to the hearts of the diving community because of its price point and the fact that it comes with all distinct features of a genuine dive watch: luminous hands and indices, a screw-down crown, and a one-way rotating bezel. Movement and ISO Certifications Although production is now halted for this type, it is still available online and in some stores. Our Verdict: Which Is For You? Moreover, even without constant light exposure, the solar-powered movement of the Seiko SNE102 provides a power reserve of up to 6 months. This marks the COURAGE and CREATIVITY of Orient to merge modern designs with traditional features of a watch. Seiko: A Classic That Never Gets Old

The Orient RA-AA0810N19B wears much like the Orient Kamasu on the wrist. Coming in at 41.8mm in diameter, the watch will have a very familiar fit to many considering 42mm tends to be the most common size for popular dive watches, such as the Seiko SKX. The conservative 46.8mm lug to lug helps keep the watch from looking too large on my 7″ wrist, filling the length of the wrist without overhanging. Wrists smaller than mine may find this watch wears a tad on the larger side, but not comically big that it would become unwearable. It’s very difficult to give a much higher quality sapphire crystal while maintaining the low price of the Mako 2. My only advice is to ensure you guys don’t overuse the Mako 2 unless you want the dial window full of scratches =P Another unique quality of this watch is that this model is also one of the few timepieces from Orient that doesn’t have a day and date window. In terms of the practicality of the watch, I also noticed that the bezel was very difficult to turn. While this is a good thing for using the watch when diving, as it’s less likely that the bezel is rotated accidentally, perhaps this could have been compensated for with deeper grooves in the bezel for better grip.

Premium watches are much more difficult to compare as they don’t have a particular purpose to serve.
