About this deal

If you find that you still have too much of your last easy-repeat item, you can easily skip a delivery.

It was my decision to put him on Cystease, twice a day for a couple of weeks. Then I cut down to one and he continued to wee fine, nice big wees and no straining, crying or hopping in and out of the litter tray, Then I took them off him and he has been fine for a couple of years nowWhen managing this condition it is important to look at measures to help restore the bladder lining and, where possible, reduce and eliminate stress factors. If Finn's having a problem with repeat infections in his bladder I would also give him Waterfall D-Mannose which is great at mopping up any bacteria hanging around in the bladder. Feline cystitis means that your cat's bladder is inflamed and when it is called idiopathic cystitis it means that there is an underlying unexplained reason for its cause. It is a very common condition and is not always a serious health concern but we always recommend you chat to your vet about it. WHY WOULD THIS BE RELATED TO FELIWAY CLASSIC? Hang in there - it can be a gruelling process and you are doing a fantastic job advocating for your boy.

Also, am I right in thinking that the Cystease are antibiotics? He has 30 of them but I wasn't told how long I had to give them for. FIC is normally treated with a course of anti-inflammatory medication. This often worries cat owners because, in some cases, where they are dehydrated or have low blood pressure, these medications can cause kidney problems. However in the vast majority of cases they are very safe. Will my cat get feline idiopathic cystitis again? Edit, just found out the new cat is un-neutered but does have an owner in our street, i guess its attracted by the food my neighbour leaves out. You also have the functionality to pause your subscription on easy repeat, simply go to ‘My Account’ to do this. A high percentage of cystitis cases, however, are said to be 'idiopathic' i.e. not associated with a medical cause. Thiscommonly occurs in cats which have an exaggerated response to stress.Rushed my little boy (1 yr 7mo tabby) to the vets yesterday after he started showing signs of a UTI - peeing outside of his tray, repeatedly straining (about 10 times in half an hour) and right before I took him doing a small, pink wee. I know I'm probably overreacting about giving him the Metacam, but I truly don't know what to do - I don't want to give it to him, but if he does need it I don't want to deny him. (I am currently waiting to speak to the vet about it, but I just want to know if anyone can give me advice as I'm very impatient! ) The study above also talks about the half life of Metacam in guinea pigs and shows it is metabolised very rapidly and will not offer effective pain relief if only given once every 24 hours. We're 2 floors up and there has been a new cat outside, theres usually one hanging about, my neighbours feed it even though it has a home near by but recently there has been 2, i didn't think it would be the reason seeing as the cats don't come into our building and my cats don't go outside...but my hubby has just come home and said he thinks the cat outside was spraying against the cars so im guessing even though i can't hear it or smell it that my cats can.

When cats have cystitis it means that their bladders are inflamed. Feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC) describes cystitis which has an unexplained medical cause. It is a really common condition and is not normally a serious health concern, but can be very uncomfortable for your cat. When a cat is stressed it has been proven that a layer within the bladder which protects it from the harsh chemicals in urine becomes patchy, when this happens it is more exposed and inflammation can occur (1). FELIWAY Classic can help cats have less severe signs and episodes and fewer recurrences of cystitis (2). HOW TO USE FELIWAY Please note that parcels weighing over 2kg may be sent via courier due to Royal Mail weight restrictions.

What causes feline idiopathic cystitis in cats?

The vet said his bladder was empty yesterday and he's straining because he feels like he needs to go. She gave him a Metacam injection, and gave me a 3ml bottle of Metacam oral suspension along with 30 Cystease tablets day (two a day sprinkled on his food). She advised me to give him a 5kg dose daily starting today of the Metacam. Stress is thought to be the most significant cause of FIC in cats. This is because anxiety has been proven to cause a special layer of the bladder which protects it against the harsh chemicals in urine to become patchy. When the tissue of the bladder is exposed to urine, inflammation can occur. I found it took around a month for the Cystease to start to have an effect - it needs time to sooth the bladder walls so 2 weeks isn't very long. Im hoping this is just a one off, nothing has changed here as far as i know but a few days before he got ill we came home and he was very jumpy and didn't want to come out of his hiding place so i don't know what happened, my girls were fine though, maybe they ganged up on him, god knows he chases them enough. Stress is one of the common reasons cats get cystitis and so it is often recommended to use FELIWAY Classic to help your cat. If your vet has advised you that your cat's cystitis is due to stress then FELIWAY Classic would be a product which you could use alongside their suggestions.
