About this deal

In this one some bits, which could be described I guess as “toilet humour” (using a term I don’t like) was what I was put off by but this wasn’t too prominent in the book. It has adventure, humour, lots of fun illustrations as well (by Tony Ross) which I also really loved.

Take a spin through the sewers on a 360° special effects laden wild ride to break into the crown jewels vault! The character of a young boy named Ben, is acclaimed to be a hero, who is bored beyond belief after he is made to stay over at his Grandma’s house… But she is the most boring Grandma there can be.

Another thing I liked about the book is that without being preachy, it is able to deliver an important message as well about age and about the relationship between generations—not just grandparents and grandchildren but parents and children as well. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. A story of prejudice and acceptance, funny lists and silly words, this new book has all the hallmarks of David s previous bestsellers.

The one complaint I had though was that the humour in some places is somewhat on the crass side which I found off-putting, but not all of it, so it didn’t interfere with my reading too much.

In poking fun at their obsession with the dancing show, Walliams is also I guess poking fun at his own world (I only discovered that he is a judge on Britain’s Got Talent when I wrote a post about this book some time ago). The book was very good and i enjoyed reading it, yet i think the film is a bit worse, but not too much. N.B: possibly the author's highlight due to the BBC film, two stage productions and a children's themed ride! Granny somehow overhears the conversation due to the indistinct sound made by Ben while he was talking.
