About this deal

The ability to regulate the gas control easily means the BRS-3000T is effective in simmering if required. Find the best backpacking/camp stove for your next outdoor adventure using our independent reviews and ratings. Fortunately most canister stoves like the BRS-3000T can be used with any brand of canister including Jetboil, MSR, Snow Peak, Optimus and other brands.

I do the annual maintenance on my MSR liquid stoves using the maintenance parts kit, have a drawer full of o-rings for the fuel bottles that attach to my MSR liquid stoves (WhisperLite and DragonFly), and another drawer full of gaskets for my Svea 123 fuel cap. So yes, the BRS is an ultralight canister stove with the nearest competitor, the OLICAMP Ion Micro Titanium Stove, being nearly double the weight! But remember the issue I have when screwing it on to the fuel canister; if this doesn’t bother you then go for it.

Bought one of these several years ago (don't remember exactly when) and whenever I fly abroad it comes with me. Because the stove is small the nob is bit too close to a canister and a bit too short so it's close to the flame too so one needs to get used to use it accurately. The BRS 3000T having no pressure regulator needs constant monitoring and adjusting to hold the flame consistent. If you are camping at the beach or any other place where there is soft ground and it is okay for you to dig, just make a hole big enough for your stove and use the the removed dirt or sand to create even more of a wind block.

If the wind is managed or not an issue, you will have no problem achieving a fast boil with this stove. As far as efficiency of the BRS-3000T goes I have found reducing the flame by about 1/3 will increase efficiency substantially. The manufacturer claims that they use titanium alloy for pot support legs, which is most likely based on the facts that the legs are lightweight but strong, withstand high temperature with no problem, and cool very quickly. We all know that the construction quality of this little stove is not great, and we might surmise that the quality of the titanium used in making it is a bit suspect. With the BRS-3000T, not only is the pot far up off the ground, but the narrow span of the delicate cooking arms makes using anything other than backpacking cookware impossible – or at least a bit dangerous.
